House of Bruar to Celebrate 20 Years in Retail with Exclusive Sale
The House of Bruar, Scotland’s leading independent country clothing retailer, will celebrate 20 years in business this Easter with a one-off anniversary sale.
The luxury shopping complex first opened in 1995, and since then has steadily grown to become an internationally recognised retail destination for high quality Scottish clothing and produce, drawing over 1.5 million visitors through its doors last year alone.
The business was founded on an appreciation of traditional and contemporary Scottish fashions, with a particular emphasis on classic textiles such as Tweed and cashmere, and that focus has continued to this day, with The House of Bruar now having the UK’s largest collection of cashmere in its extensive Knitwear Hall.
Scottish Tweed also features heavily through the company’s country clothing range, with modern designs alongside time-honoured favourites, proving that demand for this high-quality material remains undimmed.
Much of their Tweed collection is sold under their own brand, with exclusive designs produced from authentic Harris Tweed under the auspices of Bruar’s own buying team. Chairman and founder Mark Birkbeck continues to play a key role in this regard, working closely with traditional textile mills to design and develop new garments that further enhance the Bruar collection. He is ably assisted in this capacity by his son Tom, who is Product Development Manager and Menswear Buyer for the company.
The high volume of tourists who have visited The House of Bruar over the years makes the store an invaluable showcase for the best in Scottish textile manufacturing, helping to grow Scotland’s reputation as a producer of high quality garments on an international stage.
In recent years the company has increased its reach thanks to significant investments in its mail order and ecommerce sectors, which has enabled it to deliver the best in Scottish fashion to an appreciative customer base throughout the UK and around the world.
The anniversary sale will give The House of Bruar the opportunity to thank its customers for their continued support not just of the store itself but also of Scotland’s rich heritage of clothing manufacturing and design, a sector which looks to have a long and successful future ahead of it.
